Spring holidays are just around the corner. If you have not reserved a trip, it is not too late to think about a getaway with children.
“Spring holidays are in different calendars for different states, including different school districts within a state,” said Going.com travel expert Katy Nastro. “You want to take advantage of the fact that you can make a small spring vacation arbitration.”
Whether you want adventure, relaxation or simply a sun, Nastro says it is not too late to find last minute offers for spring holidays.
Martha Sheridan, president and executive director of Meet Boston, talks about how some of President Donald Trump’s policies are affecting this year’s travel perspectives in Boston.
“Usually, we find that most people are not going to travel too far,” said Nastro. “We are seeing often, today with economic uncertainty, which people seek to aim at a five -day trip, but probably a trip of three to four days.”
If you plan to fly, Nastro says that being flexible with her itinerary is the best way to obtain travel offers.
“If you can leave that Saturday, return on Wednesday in the middle of the week, you will discover that prices will be 20% to 30% less instead of traveling that true spring vacation week from Monday to Sunday,” Nastro recommended.
The air rate can be steep so close to the game, but Nastro says that there are still some last minute bargains that can take advantage of.
“Some agreements that we are finding at the end of April that people can take advantage of … Puerto Rico for $ 244 round trip,” said Nastro. “If you want to make a slightly bigger trip, and maybe stretch in the following week, you can take advantage of offers like Boston to Reykjavik for only $ 436 round trip.”
If flying is outside your budget, consider a stay: this year, Boston was appointed the best spring vacation destination for families.
“Because many other people seek to leave the city, you can take advantage of some of those great experiences of the city that you can have in Boston when there are less people nearby,” said Nastro.
