It’s now possible to fly around the world for less than £1,000

Low -cost airlines have reduced the cost of our summer vacations, which allows us to go to Europe for the price of a food at home. But could they be about to change the way we fly too, making it cheaper than ever crossing continents?

It is true that the history of long -distance budget carriers is not rich in success stories, with a cemetery of failed companies in the early 2000s (does Zoom remember, which left thousands of passengers stranded in 2008?). But in recent years, a new generation of low -cost carriers, such as the Nordic Atlantic, has been making waves by offering flights without luxuries worldwide.

Last month, we saw the launch of new long -distance long cost routes, one of Nordic and another of Wizz, which will make it cheaper accompanied by East and the Middle East Asia, respectively, provided that it is willing to give up some comforts, of course.

Until recently, Norse Atlantic has largely focused on transatlantic flights (hence its name), as well as a slightly random route between London and Cape City. But from October, the operator without luxuries will fly directly to Bangkok, with tickets with a price of £ 400, almost half of the price of a basic economic ticket with BA.

Meanwhile, Wizz Air, the carrier who loved budget travelers, has presented their longer routes to date, with flights from London Gatwick to Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia. Individual rates will begin from £ 125, less than half the price of an economic ticket with Saudia, the national carrier of the desert kingdom.
