On my trips I have never had the opportunity to experience the executive class of British Airways or, in fact, the executive class service of any other airline. However, when I accompanied my parents to Hyderabad in India on 4th February, they offered me a complementary update to the executive class. Unfortunately, my parents were not improved, possibly because they had reserved separately. However, I had the opportunity to experience the executive class for the first time and, therefore, to obtain a personal vision of the facilities and comforts offered by the service. More specifically, I also obtained a first -hand experience of the executive class of British Airways.
As usual, the first part of the executive class experience is the Airport Lounge before the flight. To access the executive classroom, you do not necessarily need to be the head of executive class tickets. Frequent flyers that have enough fidelity points can also receive complementary access to the living room. The Airport Hall is well supplied with a wide variety of buffet kitchen. There was also a wide variety of drinks, including alcoholic and non -alcoholic beverages.
Outward trip
On board the flight, the seats are very welcoming with a lot of leg space. In addition, seats can become beds, ensuring a quiet flight. The only peculiarity with which I had to deal with was the fact that my seat was backwards, which meant that I felt I was moving back! However, after a while you get used to! In general, British Airways’s executive class seat is very comfortable, especially for those who require more leg space.

In terms of food and drinks, drinks are given in vessels instead of plastic drinks given in the premium economy and economy. In addition, the food presentation was very good and remarkably different from other classes. Before taking off, they offered me a drink and then, shortly after, they offered me another, with a drink option given in the second offer.
For meals, unlike the other classes, it has the option not only of the principal but also of start and dessert. I also noticed that there was a selection of sauces available for the entrants, unlike other classes. In addition, even for breakfast that also occurred on board, there was a starting and main option. The taste of food was a good standard restaurant. Then, in general, the external trip was comfortable.

Return trip
On my return trip that took place in 9th February, British Airways gave me the same complementary update when I registered online 24 hours before the flight. However, at the airport this was terminated. It is important that airlines are consistent in offering an update to passengers to provide predictability to their routine. In my case, my parents did not return with me and expected them to contact them from the executive classroom where they would have courtesy Internet access. As my executive class access had been rescinded at the airport, I could not contact them. While this was a minor inconvenience, it highlights how inconsistency can be a possible setback for a client.
On the positive side, I could directly compare the British Airways Executive Class with a premium economy on the same flight route. In terms of food, in Premium economy, similar to the executive class of British Airways, they provided us enough meals throughout the flight. The main difference was the most limited selection. In addition, on this particular flight, even that limited choice was degraded. Instead of offering an option of three possible courses, it was simply an option between “vegetables or not vegetables.” In general, however, the return trip was reasonable.
Conclusion
My experience in executive class gave me a good idea of what is offered at that level. In addition, the reduction in the choice available in the premium economy was obvious.
In general, my experience in the executive class of British Airways and the premium economy on the same flight route was insightful. What is your British Airways experience?
