The Cañón de las Buitreras Natural Monument is located on the eastern periphery of the Alcornocales Natural Park, near Cortes de la Frontera. The Guadiaro river, leaving the Cañada del Real Tesoro (Estación de Cortes), fits into the limestone and margolimestones forming a deep gorge or canyon that reaches 225 m verticality at its highest point. Between the entrance to the canyon and the exit, in the Charco del Moro, there is a drop of 100 m and a route of 2 km.
